Welcome to our Oregon Coast Getaway Guide, where we share local tips, favorite places, and ideas to help you plan the perfect stay in Waldport and the Central Oregon Coast.

Spring Has Sprung on the Oregon Coast

Every year on the Oregon Coast, there’s a moment when you can feel the seasons start to shift. The heavy winter skies begin to break, the days get a little longer, and suddenly there are patches of blue overhead that remind you warmer days are on the way.

Spring has officially arrived here in Waldport, and it’s one of my favorite times of year.

We still get our share of rain this time of year, but that’s part of what makes spring on the coast so beautiful. The changing weather brings dramatic skies, bursts of sunshine, and one of my favorite sights of all, rainbows. If you spend enough time near the ocean this season, chances are you’ll catch one stretching across the horizon.

It’s also the time of year when everyone starts to come out of winter mode. After months of cozy indoor days, spring feels like an invitation to get outside again and explore everything the Central Oregon Coast has to offer.

Spring Is the Perfect Time to Explore Waldport and the Central Oregon Coast

One of the things I love most about living in this area is how many places there are to explore within just a short drive. Spring is a great time for hiking, beach walks, and scenic drives, especially before the busy summer season arrives.

A few of my favorite spots this time of year include:

  • Mike Miller Park in South Beach - a peaceful trail system with beautiful forest views
  • Cape Perpetua Scenic Area - endless hiking trails, ocean overlooks, and one of the most stunning stretches of coastline in Oregon
  • Beaver Creek State Natural Area - perfect for quiet walks, wildlife watching, and enjoying the fresh spring air

There are so many places to explore, and every visit feels a little different depending on the weather, the tides, and the time of day.

Staying Near the Beach in Waldport

One of the best parts about visiting the Oregon Coast in the spring is being able to slow down and really enjoy the scenery. Long beach walks, fresh ocean air, and peaceful evenings are easy to find here.

When staying at our newest vacation home, Cozy Crabin (featured below), you can even enjoy a short one minute walk to the beach near the Alsea Bay Bridge. The path down to the sand is one of my favorite little spots in Waldport, especially this time of year when the skies are full of color and the crowds haven’t arrived yet.

It may not be summer yet, but you can feel it getting closer every day.

The ocean air smells a little warmer, the sunsets last a little longer, and the trails start calling again.

Spring on the Oregon Coast is the perfect time to get outdoors, explore the area, and enjoy everything that makes this place so special.

And if you’re anything like me, you’ll be watching the sky for the next rainbow.
